MSCI August 2025 Rebalancing: Swiggy, Waaree Energies Among Potential Additions
Vishal Mega Mart, Swiggy, Hitachi Energy, and Waaree Energies are poised for inclusion in the MSCI Standard Index during the August 2025 rebalance, according to Nuvama Alternative & Quantitative Research. The reshuffle could trigger $287 million in passive inflows for Vishal Mega Mart, $285 million for Swiggy, $240 million for Hitachi Energy, and $217 million for Waaree Energies.
Conversely, Sona BLW Precision Forgings and Thermax face exclusion, potentially draining $186 million and $154 million respectively. The MSCI is expected to finalize changes on August 8, 2025, with implementation scheduled for August 26.
Nuvama's analysis also identifies twelve candidates for the MSCI Smallcap Index, including Inventurus Knowledge and Ather Energy, which could collectively attract $65 million. Four stocks including Bharat Dynamics may face removal, risking $36 million in outflows.
Notably, One 97 Communications (Paytm) achieved inclusion eligibility by Day 4 of the review period, though Nuvama cautioned about the earlier cut-off timeframe.
